My Numbers
I have a somewhat diversified portfolio consisting of stocks and cash. Currently, I don't own any real estate. When it comes to choosing stocks, my approach isn't strictly defined. While buying ETFs seems logical for diversification, it's challenging to resist owning individual stocks that catch my interest.
Below, you'll find a list of the stocks I own and my current net worth. I've separated my Turkish stock holdings into a different section. I'll also explain why I chose these particular stocks and which ones I'm considering in the following sections.
Stock Portfolio (2024)
Below is the number of shares I hold from each firm. Underneath that, you'll find a stock ticker displaying the current price of each stock in real-time. I also have some stocks and crypto with values below €500, so I haven't included them here. I purchased these with dividend income as a way to invest and experiment, but I don't hold significant positions in them.

How I Choose Stocks?
First of all, I know that the best approach for most people is to invest in VTI or VOO and relax. It's a simple and effective strategy.
However, I find it quite boring and don't want to be part of the “boring”. Occasionally, I come across intriguing companies and want to get involved, so I take a different approach. If it costs me money, so be it. At least I have fun sometimes, especially when one of my stocks jumps 20% in a day.
I'm a flexible person, so I'm open to selling companies if needed. I invest in companies I like or use, and I have a particular interest in luxury stocks. I believe they're a solid choice since the habits of wealthy individuals don't change much. Currently, I don't own any luxury stocks because the ones I'm interested in have excessively high Price/Earnings ratios.
If an opportunity arises, I would invest in them. Since interest rates have risen in Europe and the USA, REITs have dropped significantly. Therefore, I'm focusing on investing in REITs monthly. If they increase in value, I plan to sell and invest elsewhere.
Dividends are also appealing to me because they offer flexibility and a steady cash income. I try to generate more cash through side hustles. While dividends are nice to have, they're not my main focus.
I also own stocks in Turkey, my home country. In the future, I want to increase my investments there as some Turkish companies offer attractive dividends. Currently, I own Tüpras, an energy giant, and Şişecam, a leading global glass producer.
At the moment, my portfolio represents only 50% of my total net worth, but I aim to increase that to 80% by 2025.
Lastly, I avoid investing in tobacco companies. It's a no-go for me. I really enjoy discussing investment ideas and exploring new opportunities. If you'd like to discuss an idea, feel free to message me on Twitter or send me an email anytime.
